Can someone help me understand why I am getting all of this on my screen. Is my system compromised due to this?
It won't go away. I have tried everything.

have you tried system restore to a position a few days back, looks like you have picked up browser malware. disconnect from the network whislt doing it, then do a virus sweep, you can try a few of the free malware programmes

MalwareBytes is a pretty good one. I've used it in the past after my daughter inadvertently downloaded crap on my pc.
