Hi,

Thank you, How do i stop this error if Power Query is not installed?. I have the Query set up to refresh as soon as the sheet is opened

"Initialization of data source failed" ?.

Then

"The following data range failed to refresh: ExternalData_1"
Continue to refresh all
"OK" " Cancel"

Thinking again .

would this be a better way?

use the above code to detect if Power Query is installed on a sheet load event, if yes then call a macro to refresh the data

if no the continue as normal ?

my next question is how do you refresh data via a macro ?is it possible to refresh a query via VBA Code ?

would this be a better solution ?

Again can you please put comments in the code, i like to know what the code is doing.
Don't like just copying code, i don't learn that way
