Chart: Text on the scale of the X-axis, how?

I need to create a chart which shows measurements of different Customer Orders on the X-axis and the Order No. on the Y-axis. The problem is that the Order Numbers are pretty much random except for having all the same basic style (e.g. 846378-3) and are to appear on the chart in the order in which they appear in the spreadsheet. So on the scale of the X-axis instead of something like 1,2,3,4 etc I need (e.g.) 743623-4, 453664-6, 527381-3 etc.
I don't have clue though how to get Excel to do that , please help me!

Can you paste the series formula for your chart, and tell us where the titles are stored in the worksheet, please?

I just got it to work. When I choose a point chart (don't know if this is the correct translation, my excel is German) and choose the order numbers for the X-axis it doesn't work (it puts 1,2,3 etc. on the X-axis) but when I tell it to do a graph (i.e. connect the points) it suddenly works (puts the order numbers on the X-axis).
