I don't do a lot with charts but I'm making one for work, and I can't figure out why the chart is bringing the data in in reverse order.
It's starting with DMV & Department of Revenue Fees but that's the last item in the source data.
How can I reverse the data to come in the original order.

Increased Auto Insurance$3,600
Ignition Interlock Service$2,172
Alcohol/Drug Treatment & Education$1,000
Defense Attorney Fees$3,650
Arrest, Court & Legal Fees$2,300
DMV & Department of Revenue Fees$773

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
Right click on the vertical axis, and select Format Axis

Check the option for "reverse order"

Ok but that puts the horizontal axis at the top. Why can't the chart just bring in the data in the correct order?

I was able to get what I want by sorting the list to be in the order I want, but I don't want to have to do that everytime.

Check this option too:

Solution
OK. That fixed that, but what I still don't understand is why I had to do all those extra steps. Why can't Excel plot the data in the order of the source range?

I assume it regards the item closest to the value axis as the first item and so on.
