I have a data set that has four columns. The first two are time and data values. Columns C and D have most rows blank except for rows where a value is returned. The values returned represent local maxima and minima values.
What I want is to put a symbol at the data points representing local maxima and minima values. I created a scatter chart and attempted several approaches in charting- don't find anything that works. First try was to highlight the chart and drag data over to adjacent columns (C+D). Excel let me drag it, but did not plot these points on the data from column B.
I don't see what's going on with charting this data- seems that dragging new data in from an adjacent column should be a no-brainer. Apparently not.
Can anyone in the Forum explain how to create this scatter chart? Below is the data.
