I have 2 excel files and each as a chart.

When I go to Format Chart Area in one file the the color on the bottom row 2nd from left is a light orange color. In the second file this botton color is gray?

When I open a new excel file and make a test chart and then go to Format Chart Area the color on the bottom row 2nd from left is the light orange color.

Is there anyway to set the color in the one file that is showing gray back to orangist color?

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
Light grey is the Excel standard colour, so the orange colour appears because the color palette has been changed (in your Book.xlt template).

Try this:

1. Open both workbooks.
2. In your workbook which has the offending grey standard colour choose Tools, Options from the menu.
3. On the Color tab click the down arrow on the dropdown 'Copy colors from' and choose the other workbook.
4. Click OK

Thanks a bunch, and all I had to do was press the Reset button and everything is as good as new.

Thanks again ...
