Hi, I have loads of data in numbers and I want to change it to the format of ten thousands.
For example:
20,000 = 2.00
200,000 = 20.00
65,887 = 6.59
894,021 = 89.40

I've been searching for the answer but only for thousands and milions.

go to custom format and enter "#," with out the speech marks

Hi Nemmi, have tried it but the result is not the one that I wanted. If the number is 35,250 with the format you gave just now, it will become 35.
I want it to be 3.53

In that case use "#,###"

it shows like this instead of 3.53 :(

i'm sorry I missed that. i don't think you can get the number format to "break" at points not in the typical 3rd position. Maybe there is a way in VBA but, i'm not expert at that.

Why not just divide the value in column A by 10000 and format as a number with two decimal places, i.e.
formula to put in cell B2:
Excel Formula:
=A2/10000
