Changing existing data in Date/Time format

I have data that is currently in "short time" format. Data entered in this field represents hours. For example, 0:30 and 2:00 equals a 1/2 hr and 2 hrs respectively. The problem is this format constrains the data to 24 hrs. However, the data is not intended to represent actual time. Is there a way to build an update query that will convert the current data from short time to an integer format? Or are there any other neat tricks that I could use?

Thanks in advance!

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
You could try something like:

DateDiff("n",0,[fldMyDateField])/60

This will give you the time in terms of hours. Please note that this assumes that all of your times were entered without dates -- just with the hours and minutes (and seconds, if you entered those).
