Changing an outside file name

Is it possible through Access VBA to change an outside file name?

I need to get rid of the extention on a text file..i.e. change 'file.txt' to 'file'...

Use the Name statement

OldFileName = "C:\file.txt"
NewFileName = "C:\file"

Name OldFileName As NewFileName
