Hello

I'm in the process of creating my first database. I've quickly learned that look up tables aren't the great thing they first appeared. So I've tried to switch the look up tables to a normal table by reclassifying them in Design Mode as 'Text'.

But when I look at the relationships the once-was-a-look-up-table-but-thought-I'd-changed-it still show as for example:

TblOne
TblOne.Value

Which to my inexperienced eye still makes me think it's operating as a look up table.

Can I cleanly cut out the look-up table if so, how? Thanks.

Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
I'm not sure what type of original tables you mean. Maybe it's a new feature in Access I've never used. Can you describe how you created the table in more detail? What does this mean ("text" doesn't sound like something that would change a table classification):
Code:
So I've tried to switch the look up tables to a normal table by reclassifying them in Design Mode as 'Text'.

As a guess, removing and recreating might work better than "switching".
