Change Value of same filed to mulipte rows

I have a feild named Status, where the value can be: Recived, Assigned, In Progress, Complete or Canceled. I am wanting to create a form where you will say change Status to one of the choices above for the primary keys that the user will enter. What would be the best way to acchomplish this task?

Can you not use a dropdown for the status field?
