Change report filter with cell value

I have the following code which works perfectly for a PivotTable, but gives an error for a PowerPivot PivotTable.

In this blog post I use a number of techniques to achieve the final result, but one of the techniques is "wrapping" a caption in the proper format so that ultimately, a report filter will accept it.

There's even a doc you can download at the end of the post that explains the whole thing in gruesome detail, but the most important part is this:

[TableName].[ColumnName].&[Value] is the needed format.

So a formula like this works:

[Customer].[CustomerID].%26["&C5&"]

Although we encoded the & to be %26 for the web. That isn't necessary for VBA I don't think, and it also may not work. But this should get you close.

I will try to explain you my situation in detail.

Background: I want to upload an excel report containing some powerpivot tables to SharePoint. Then I will be able to schedule the refresh of the data. The data source is a SSAS Multidimensional Cube.
Once the data is refreshed I still need to update some filter in the report. There is a filter for the year and a filter for the week.

Chalenge: After update the report with the current data I want to be able to automatic select the current week in the filter and also the year if it has changed.

Initial Solution: first attempt was to use the Worksheet_Change or some similar event and then something like this:

First thing I cannot understand: I have to reference the pivot field using the whole hierarchy:

PivotFields("[Time].[Year-Week].[Week]")

Instead I would like to use the "Active Field" name but it did not work for me.

Second thing, I am not able to assig the current week to the filter. I think the problem is, I need a value that exactly match a valid value in the cube.

Any comment will be highly appreciated.

thanks so much for your useful answer.

The problem to implement it is I am using a SSAS multidimensional cube as data source. For this reason I don't have a power pivot model. I also using regular filters and not slicer. Maybe we have to migrate or cubes to tabular in the future or at least use tabular for the new ones.
