Cell Reference from Table Slicer Selection (Non-PivotTable)

Hi there,

I have a data-entry table, whereby a few slicers help users quickly enter their scores for various items.

I am wanting to reference the selection of the 'Name' slicer (Slicer_Name1) to a cell to simply show the name/s selected in that slicer (A formula relies on this to retrieve other info). E.g. I select Brian in the Slicer and 'Brian' shows in Cell B6

I am trying to avoid people selecting their name twice (on the slicer and the drop-down menu). I have done this before for PivotTables etc. but am having no luck.

I've tried many things, including TextJoin, Cube Functions, Conditional Formatting referencing Slicer etc.

Any idea's?

Cheers,
Idi :)

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.
if I understand well your description
select whole table and Insert - Slicer
select column
table must be an ExcelTable (Ctrl+T) not a range

Hi Sandy,

Not quite, but thank you for your help!

I've got the slicer, what I'm wanting is for a cell to show the name selected in the slicer - is this possible outside of a PivotTable?

Cheers,
Idi

Sorry for the confusion.

I am not wanting to insert a slicer, but reference in a cell what is selected in a slicer - does this make sense?

Cheers,
Idi
