I have a workbook with 12 spreadsheets, one for each month of the year.

I need to carry some data forward from one month to the next.

When I copy the data, I seem to only be able to get data replicated from the cell I copy to the first spreadsheet.

I am sure that there is a very easy answer, but unfortunately it is eluding me.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
do you mean to say when you copy from sheet 1 to sheet 2 the original data in sheet 2 is earased and the data from sheet 1 is copied in its place.
you have to copy data in sheet1 to the area below the existing data in sheet 2.

are you doing this with the help of a macro

in that case you must introduce a variable e.g. dest.
within the macro type a line

set dest=cells(rows.count,"A").end(xlup).offset(1,0)
worksheets("sheet1").used range.copy dest

somethnglike this

revert to the newsgrouop iif you still have problem.

You could use a layout like the one below:
Book1
ABCD
1NameHours, January
2Barry140
3Geri130
Sheet2
Book1
ABCD
1NameHours, FebruaryHours, Year to Date
2Barry120260
3Geri90220
Sheet3
Book1
ABCD
1NameHours, MarchHours, Year to Date
2Barry100360
3Geri100320
Sheet4
