Hello Can anyone give any ideas of careers in Excel (the program, I don't mean by using it everyday)? I'm not an advanced user but would be open to taking a course that gave recognised qualification? But not sure what careers someone can get with such a qualification? I'm not really wanting to go down the training route but is this the only option?
Thanks

You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
Some companies hire Excel specialist to support them. Usually mixed in with other MSOffice skills.

I'm a programming consultant. Companies hire me to automate Excel for them or even just provide support. I don't do any training - other than answering support questions on occasion.

Hi,

The best way to learn Excel is to practice, practice, practice and a good way is to be part of public forums like MrExcel.

Of course, You can attend courses and get some knowledge but again the only workable way is to do the job on a daily basis and learn from the people who is better then You.

There exist also some good books and also some good online resources like MSDN and MS Knowledge Base together with private sites.

However, the best insight to start with is that it really not exist any shortcuts to knowledge only hard work.
