Card Visual Wont Update When Filtered and Using Variable Measure

Hi all,

I'm stumped and hoping someone can help! So basically I have an issue with a card visual not updating properly. The card contains a measure which is calculating the total year to date volumes but for the previous year (far left card in pic below).

As you can can see it is working fine when none of the filters on the right are applied. However whenever I apply any of these filters this is what happens:

I recently updated the measure associated with this card to include a variable as I was fed up of having to go in each month and manually update the measure so it was picking up the new period. Prior to including the variable in the measure the card would update correctly.

Any help/advice offered would be greatly appreciated.

Excel Facts

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
