I have been attempting to build a spreadsheet that will record bids and score them in excel. I am not great with excel. I have tried to do “ if” statements but there too many required to do so. Index and match work for a single bid but I don’t know how to extend that to the many bids that could be made.
I am trying to keep all the bid on the same line with some cells using “ drop downs” .however it is a large task and I am simply interested to see if there may be a better way. I do not know the slightest bit of VBA.
Can any one help with a suggested layout?
Cheers
Sorry I have tried and tried to upload, my screen goes light when I attempt to find the file and I can’t upload. ( on my iPad)

Can you give us an idea of what your data looks like? Structuring the data in the right way is the first decision to make.

MrExcel has a tool called “XL2BB” that lets you post samples of your data that will allow us to copy/paste it to our Excel spreadsheets, so we can work with the same copy of data that you are. Instructions on using this tool can be found here: XL2BB - Excel Range to BBCode

Note that there is also a "Test Here” forum on this board. This is a place where you can test using this tool (or any other posting techniques that you want to test) before trying to use those tools in your actual posts.

If you have trouble with XL2BB, review the "XL2BB Icons greyed out" link in the 'Known XL2BB issues' section near the top of the XL2BB Instructions page linked above.

Thank you for your reply.
I renamed the file, now looking for it. (Sorry I am pretty new at this). I may have to build the tables that house the criteria. And attempt to load it. I will be back.

i am lost with the Xl2BB - i can't load the spreadsheeet, i can't copy and paste, can't drag it in.
I guess you have to be a certified user to use this platform.

What is the XL2BB problem? It's a great Add-In when you get it set up.

I don't think that Mr Excel certifies people.

You can always upload a copy of the workbook to something like onedrive and share the link in your thread and hopefully we can help find a solution for you.

Uninstall the previous version of XL2BB if any.
  • Launch Excel, click the File tab, click Options, and then click the Add-Ins category.
NO OPTIONS UNDER ANY TAB ON MY EXCEL PROGRAM
