Normally, when you write a formula, you can see the cell you are referencing highlighted in real time. Excel stopped highlighting active cells when writing formula that spans multiple worksheets. Let me use an extremely simplified example to illustrate my problem:

If I type this formula in cell B1: =A1
then i will see cell A1 highlighted in blue while i'm still in the formula. Likewise, if I hit F2 while cell B1 is selected, i can see which cell is referenced. This works as expected.

Here's my problem. When I put this formula in cell B1: =Sheet2!A1
now, i CANNOT SEE cell A1 highlighted on Sheet2 while i'm writing the formula. Basically, i can't see cell reference highlighted on another sheet when writing formula.
This is incredibly annoying and makes building formulas quite difficult; it is easy to select the wrong cell when i can't visually see the cell i'm selecting, especially when there are large datasets or you are building formulas using mouse+keyboard. I never actually type it, i just select the cell i'm trying to reference with the mouse.

Can someone please help me to turn cell highlighting back on when writing a formula that references another worksheet?
