Can't remove Button

I added a button to my worksheet from the Developer Tab
Now I can't delete the button.


Every time I try to right-click the button, I get no response. I'm in Design Mode (on the developer tab). If I left click the button the macro runs and I get the error "Unable to get the Buttons property of the Worksheet class".

At this point, I really just want to delete the button and continue what I was working on, but I just don't seem to have any way to delete it.

I have found that sometime the only way to delete an item is to just issue the "Cut" menu command -- and that's all... No Paste. Let it die a natural dead from the clipboard...
