Good morning,

Yesterday, I attempted to open a workbook and received this message.

I tried a second time with the same result.

I also copied the file and attempted to open it and had the same result.

I have been embedding files for over three years and never had a problem.

Is there a fix for this?

Excel Facts

Easy bullets in Excel
If you have a numeric keypad, press Alt+7 on numeric keypad to type a bullet in Excel.
As soon as you click to open the workbook, press CTRL / PAGE BREAK at the same time ... several times. Hopefully that will
'error out' the opening of the workbook and permit you to enter the VBA WINDOW. Then you can examine the code for any
errors and/or go to the various worksheets and copy/paste the data to another workbook.

There are several free programs that examine a workbook for issues and correct them. I've had some success with that approach.

Thank you for the reply.

Is the PAGE BREAK key the pause/break key?

Can you let me know the names of the free programs that you mentioned in your post? Thanks.

Page Break key is correct.

The following are provided to use AT YOUR OWN RISK.
DO NOT use these on the original file until you have applied it to a COPY OF THE ORIGINAL.
If it works on a copy .... then you decide if you want to use on the original.

Free Programs :

CodeCleaner.exe Excel VBA Code Cleaner Add-in

VBA CODE DECOMPILER AND COMPACTOR VBA Code Decompiler and Compactor

I tried the CTRL-PAGE BREAK KEY and was not successful.

As a beginner, I am reluctant to attempt using the free programs.

I was wondering if you know if it is possible for me to contact Microsoft support directly.

I was reading about VBA macros that produce PDFs from several sheets in the workbook.

Since I am able to display a PDF on a page on my website, bocce.joelestingi.com, that might be a potential workaround. Do you have any advice on doing that?

Many thanks for taking the time to help with this matter.

Hi Michael,

Thank you for the reply. I will study the article and follow the steps. Hopefully, it will provide the solution.

I do not know what the XL2BB download is for. Can you explain how that works? Thanks.

XL2BB enables users to post blocks or segments of data / cells, so other users can help with solutions....XL2BB won't help you in this case !
