Hi all,

I am now getting annoyed.

I had a query in another workbook, and I copied the query to a new workbook, but the table the query is linked too does not exist in the new work book. I deleted the query and created a new one, but when I put in the current.workbook formula, it brings up the query with link to the non-existent worksheet, and I looked everywhere and I cannot find a link to the workbook with that worksheet in it.

Any help please?

Have you used Find to find the link?

  1. Press Ctrl+F to launch the Find and Replace dialog.
  2. Click Options.
  3. In the Find what box, enter .xl.
  4. In the Within box, click Workbook.
  5. In the Look in box, click Formulas.
  6. Click Find All.

I have also seen links to other workbooks found in Defined Names in a workbook... this is another place to look.

Have you used the Inquire Tab to analyse the workbook?

Inquire is an Add-In that you can use. File Tab >> Options >> Add-Ins >> Change the Excel Add In at the bottom to COM Add In and then tap Go, Look in the list and tap the option for Inquire, you then get an extra tab in Excel, on the left there is an Workbook Analysis, lots of options in there to help you.

Thanks, I checked it out, but it says there are no linked workbooks, but my query keeps telling me that it is trying to pull data from another workbook
