When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.
Still not found, maybe rephrase the question?
I unhid a column in my worksheet and now cannot Hide it again because "Cannot move object of Sheet"
How can I resolve this and hide the sheet again, please? Google said control-6 or Tools-Option-edit but both were a dead end.
Noticed it only affects the last column, you can unhide./hide all but that one. no matter what column it is.

Check to make sure you have no hidden objects or comments in the last few columns

I've no idea how to do that, but suspect there are as the last Col is "Z" and (unlike the other sheets) no more columns are visible.
So, assuming that's the case, how can that last column be hidden?

That seems key.
The last column is XFD whether hidden or not

To find objects or comments

Btw I don't know what you mean by "Cannot find Tools-Option-Edit" unless you are using an older version than in your profile

The equivalent of Ctrl + 6 is

  • Click File
  • Click Options
  • Click Advanced
  • Scroll to the section: Display options for this workbook
  • Under "For objects, show:", select All
  • Click OK

I'm not quite with you. I don't want to remove anything, just hide certain columns.
They were all hidden (before I unhid them) so presumably it did this with all the existing comments/objects present.
That's what I'm trying to repeat. I don't understand how one affects the other.
I've got Office 2010 and can't locate "Tools-Option-Edit". Or even Tools by itself. There's File-Options but no Edit there.
But If I can hide the column I won't need it.
Appreciate the help.

If you have Objects you are not aware of then you do want to remove them

"Tools-Option-Edit".
The only "Tools-Option" I know of would have been versions up to Excel 2003, the instructions for later versions are in my last post (In Excel 2007 it is the Office button rather than File but you are not using that version either).

If excel is stating "Cannot move object of Sheet" then it is probably something to do with the last columns (or rows) as they are the places which could be pushed off the sheet not column Z

Thanks Mark.
Does anyone else know what might let the column to be hidden again? I've not added any objects or comments since it was unhidden.

Fine if you aren't willing to check using the methods I posted what you actually have I'll leave the thread to someone else

Well, what methods did you suggest Mark? Only delete or move things. Why would you do that if you want what's there ??
Please explain.
I just want to hide the bloody column like it was... it can't be this hard ! !
