I have a file which I've tried numerous ways to open:

Excel's Recovery method to resore
Renaming
Moving from my OneDrive to desktop
Outside Software
Safe mode in Excel
Changing extension from .xlsx to .xls

As far as I know I have tried everything and wondering if it's possible to duplicate with VBA.

Thanks for your help

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
If File Recovery mode doesn't start, try using this manual process to recover your workbook:

  • Click File > Open.
  • Click the location and folder that contains the corruptedworkbook.
  • In the Open dialog box, select the corrupted workbook.
  • Click the arrow next to the Open button, and then click Open and Repair.

I tried that already.

I was able to get a previous version from my recycle bin. Whenever the computer is shut down without saving an Excel file, when you recover it after starting up Excel and save it, it sends that recovered file to the Recycle bin
