My company currently keeps all our sales/inventory/historical information in Access. We run reports in our system and import the info into Access daily. The data is available for use in daily reports, and it is appended to historical tables as well. We are in the process of designing a true data warehouse and the programmers want to know what all we currently import into the system and what information we want out of the new data warehouse. They need to know what table fields we need represented in the new system and what query fields are calculated, etc.

Is there any way to map the current tables and what fields are used in what queries? I would like some sort of organizational chart type representation of my current databases.

Does that make sense?

Thanks,
David

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
I'm not sure about mapping but if you click on Tools-Analyze-Documenter, you can get a print-out of all your table and query names and fields etc and their relationships.

Microsoft Visio can import an Access database and reverse engineer it to create an Entity Relationship diagram of tables, queries, fields etc. It also captures database properties such as table-field data types, query SQL.

Unfortunately I've not really used it so I can't comment on how good it is, but it is worth investigation.
