Can you generate a list from a list?

Hello,
I am looking for some help with lists or for an answer if this is even possible. I would like to create a "home page"(tab 1) with 3 drop down lists. The tricky part is that I would like list 2 to pre-populate based on the selection in list 1, and then list 3 to populate based on the selection in list 2. Overall I have a huge data set that I am attempting to narrow down.
