Hi All

For some sudden and unknown reason I am unale to save a document with the save button and now have to save as and keep over writing. The edit buttons undo and redo are still operable after I press the save button, may I ask if anyone has a solution as I am rather perplexed.

Kind Regards

Is it a template instead of a regular workbook?

Hi jproffer

No it is a regular work book and I have been working on it this evening. None of my workbooks are allowing me to save via the save button and if I make changes the undo and redo buttons can still edit after pressing the save button. I am also NOT being asked if I would like to save the workbook when I close it down.

Kind Regards

I can't think of any reason that would happen unless you have some "Workbook BeforeSave" code in the WB module. I didn't see anything on the Save tab of excel options that would cause that, but run down my settings anyway:

SAVE WORKBOOKS
Save Files in This Format: [Excel Workbook]

Save Auto-Recover information every [ 10 ] minutes. (Checked)

Keep the last saved version if I close without saving. (Checked)

AutoRecover File Location: [ ....AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel ]

Default File Location: [ users\jp\documents ]

AUTORECOVER EXCEPTIONS FOR [ Book1 ]

Disable Auto-Recover for this workbook only. (NOT Checked)

Offline Editing...blah, blah, blah

Save Checked Out Files To:

The server drafts location on this computer (NOT selected)

The Office Document Cache (Selected)

and a couple more things that I'm sure have nothing to do with your problem.

I'll keep looking around but I don't know anything else at the moment

Here's something I've never bothered to look at before, but might have something to do with it...

Excel Options > Trust Center > File Block Settings

if you read the instructions at the top...maybe something there is blocked so you can't save it.....

Hi jproffer

Many thanks for your help. I have checked against the settings you posted and also looked at the Trust Centre but all to no avail, it's a complete mystery to me unless some update has installed while i was not looking. It is gone 1am here so I need to hit the hay and take a look again tomorrow, it will more than likely still be the same but if I stay at it now the PC will end up going out through the window.lol

Thanks again.

Kind Regards
