Can one use English macros in any foreign versions of Excel?

It seems all the messages in this forum are Spanish...
but I am using a German version of Excel 97.

Consequently, I have to translate any English macros I find, remembering to substitute semi-colons for commas, etc. A pesky business.

Do later versions of Excel accept English input and English syntax?

Re: Can one use English macros in any foreign versions of Ex

Depends on what you're looking for. Since 97, VBA is always written in "english", so, all the formulas, all the number formats, dates, etc., must be entered in VBA using the US english system...

However, formulas are entered in the "local" language, for example

=SUMA(A1; A2)

in a spanish version of Excel to sum A1 and A2.
