Can I use Power Pivot similar to the way I use limits in Hyperion?

Hello,

I am new to Power Pivot, and am comparing it's functionality to Hyperion functionality. Basically, I am wondering if I can import a list of unique identifiers as a filter on a data pull? From what I can see, Power Pivot allows you to filter, but you have to select items one by one. For the data I want to pull, I need to identify hundreds of unique IDs out of a sea of thousands, so selecting items one by one is very time consuming.

With Hyperion, I can define the 100+ unique identifiers in a text file, import it as a limit into the query, and it will only pull data linked to those IDs. Is there a similar functionality in Power Pivot?

Thanks!

Excel Facts

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
I'm not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for. You could paste the values into a table and import as a linked table into powerpivot, then write measures that filter using CONTAINS()

Filter color names, to only include those in the "include table" :

=CALCULATE(sum(colors[val]), FILTER(colors, CONTAINS(include, include[include], colors[color])))
