Can i Turn off Excel Table Auto Fill formula (Formula Replication) for only specific column(s)?

Hello,

I'm fairly new to the use of Tables. I have a Table where some columns are calculated and some are inputs. If the user decides to enter a formula as a means of entering their data (which is valid), then the formula gets replicated down the whole column. Granted, this is for the first entry. If an undo is performed, then the replication is reversed and one can continue on entering mixed data. I am aware that the replication can be turned off (globally) but this would defeat the purpose of using Tables in the first place.

If someone knows of a way / or a workaround, I'd be most appreciative. Thanks.

This is what I've done in those circumstances....

• Insert a row at the top of the table that contains ="SKIP" in every column.
- Use UNDO if necessary to remove replication of that formula.
- Use Grouping to hide that top row.

Now, if a user enters a new formula, it won't propagate because it's not unique in the column

Is that something you can work with?

Is there a reason you said to hide the row by using Grouping? How would that act differently than just simply hiding the row?

No difference between using grouping and hiding. I just hide the row so my esteemed colleagues won't accidentally write over the "skip" formulas.
