Can I make Excel print on one page by default?

In all my years of using Excel, probably the biggest regular annoyance is whenever I forget to alter the print settings before printing, resulting in lots of wasted paper.

Surely, it's better to have a default which fits all to one page, so at worst you'd only waste one sheet of paper.

So, does anyone know how to force the print range to fit all to one page by default for new documents?
