Can I colour borders ?

I am using excel 2003 but the boxes are there that offer me the colouring facility?

I have produced a number of boxes by using the border style in format cells.
There is a box in the border cells page that offers me the chance to colour the border. If I click on it and turn the box red, for instance, then click ok,
If I come out of the borders box my box stays black. If I then then go back to the border box the colour box has gone back to 'automatic' ?
Is it possible to colour the lines of a border?

OK thank you I found it.
I have to change the colour in the colour box then click on all the lines in the line box to tell it which ones to colour. Odd that.
