Can AutoNumber be re-established after replacing table?

A corrupt record caused my database to become unusable. I removed the bad record by copying all rows in the table except the bad one into Excel, then importing the data back into Access and naming it the same as the original table. My problem is the primary key is now Number. It needs to be AutoNumber. When a user tries to create a new record they get a 'Primary Key is Null' error. Is there anyway to get around this?

Hi,

Simply buit a blank table (could copy the table by selecting structure only), than modify your field number to Autonumber.

Once you have the proper structure with an append query add your old record into the new table..than the autonumber will continue with the last value.

good Luck
