Good morning!

My line of work includes bidding projects throughout each month. My estimator does not keep track of the jobs very well so I find he piles up so many jobs on a single day that this is all I can get done. I would like to smooth it out so I am doing about 5 jobs per day on every day throughout the week which means provding him a tool to track what he has done.

Currently, I keep track of the jobs in a yearly (2017, 2018, etc.) Excel sheet with tabs at the bottom for each month. Column 1 has the bid time. Column 2 has the bid date. Column 3 has the job name. I would like that information to transfer to a calander tab to visually show them for each day. For example, I want him to see he already has 5 jobs done for Monday and 3 jobs for Tuesday, so he can still find 2 more jobs for Tuesday but not do more for Monday. The calander tab could be for each month or even the whole year, but showing each month.

I have a feeling it's a very complicated formula to do something like this, if it's even possible at all. Any help you can offer is appreciated!

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
You could use Data Validation to prevent the entry of more than 5 dates which are the same in column B of each month without having to create a calendar. For example, a warning message could pop up when the estimator enters the sixth duplicate date. Would this work for you?
