Calendar month question

Hi ya,

I need to write dates in following format in excel.

31-04-2075, Excel automatically reads it as 31st April 2075 and makes it invalid as Georgian calendar does not have 31st April ever.

But, what I am trying to write is 31st day of fourth month of 2075th year. That's the calendar date in Nepal. Yes, its year 2075 in Nepal right now in our calendar. We know how to complicate things :)

Unlike Georgian calendars, where Feb always has 28 days other than leap years and Jan is always 31 days and so on Nepalese calendar month varies between 28 days to 32 days every year.

Coming back to my question, how do I make Excel accept a date of 31-04-2075 as valid. I need it formatted as date rather than text or number for my attendance register.

So, when I write 10-04-2075, it's fine because Excel reads as 10th April 2075 and I use it in Nepali calendar format but things get complicated when we have dates like 31-04-2075, 32-03-2075, 30-02-2075. All valid dates in Nepalese calendar but invalid in Georgian calendar.

Will appreciate if any one can help me with this.

Thanks

Naim

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
I'd recommend just formatting the column with the dates as Text, and just enter the dates as you want them. None of the Excel date functions will be able to handle Nepalese dates, so there's no point in keeping them as a date value. If you really need some of the date functions, you'd need to write macros to handle them.
