Calculating what % of the month has passed thus far

Hello dear forum members,

I was wondering if there's a way to calculate what % of the month has passed thus far. For instance, if August has 31 days and today is the 26th, 83% of the month has passed already.

Any ideas?

One way ...

=DAY(TODAY())/DAY(EOMONTH(TODAY(),0))

Format the cell as Percentage.

It should work if you have a 2007 system or later. On earlier versions, you need to activate/install the Analysis Toolpak (ATP).

The following should work without ATP...

=DAY(TODAY())/DAY(DATE(YEAR(TODAY()),MONTH(TODAY())+1,1)-1)

=DAY(NOW())/DAY(EOMONTH(NOW(),0))

Even better...

Use a cell to hold the current date/time.

A1: =NOW()

Then:

=DAY(A1)/DAY(EOMONTH(A1,0))

Format as Percentage
