Hello,

I would like to enter the formula to calculate the percent increase needed to return to the original after a given percent of decrease. For example, a decrease of 50% requires 100% increase on the remaining 50% to return to the starting point. The formula I find online doesn't seem to work when I try to enter it in excel and I'm sure it's something I'm not doing correctly. What I have found is

((1 / (1 – % loss)] – 1) * 100

I would like to make a column of values representing the percentage loss, and then another column representing the percentage gain required to return to breakeven. I want to set this up with percentages only.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Wildcard in VLOOKUP
Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
That is cool Kevin9999, thanks! The only change I made was instead of making the column for 100, I used 100 in the formula for A2. Much appreciated!
