Hi,

I was working on a workbook and all of a sudden it began to run slow, "Calculating 4 processors" for a long time. I've tried deleting all the cells to the right and below but it's still the same. I have other workbooks with the same type of sheets/formatting on it but they are fine. The other workbooks are even bigger than this one, so I'm guessing it's not the formatting and things like that. I have even deleted the formatting and it's still the same. I have an earlier version saved and that's fine but I would like to get to the bottom of this and find out what has happened because it's happened once before and I had to copy over all sheets to another book. I save it as a Micro Enabled workbook.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Spell Check in Excel
Press F7 to start spell check in Excel. Be careful, by default, Excel does not check Capitalized Werds (whoops)
if you have a four core processor and its set to use all four then that would be an expected message. length of time can be down to many things, as you suggest start checking for empty cells will volatile formulas etc. what file size is it ?

MS have released updates recently, might be related

not sure of release dates for patches, but I've lost one PC with no warning after an MS update followed by Itunes application making it inaccessible, no proof of course that this was the cause.

If you can save that files as xlsb that should reduce the file size, but worth evaluating any issues on sheets first

You likely have a set of formulas cranking through a lot of calculations or since this is macro-enabled, check to see if you have some code getting kicked off automatically.
