Hia...
I'm new to Powerpivots and wish to translate a calculated item (standard deviation) to powerpivot.
Basically, within my " regular " pivot table I'm showing months across the top, organisation down the left hand side and have a calculated item which works out standard deviation of the row of data.
Of course this means I can bring in new fields and have the standard deviation recalculate automatically.
The option for calculated item is greyed out in Powerpivot...so, how would I achieve the same?
The calculated item in regular pivot is:
=stdev.p("201504","201505","201506","...etc...
So you can see whatever I pull in will calculate the SD by month (it's a rolling 13 months).
If it helps, the data source is a SQL query that returns a flat file, ie, the is a field for month.
I'm sure there's a solution but given I'm new to powerpivot I simple can't work it out!
