Calculate Time Span between 2 dates

I am trying to calculate the time span between a certain date and todays date

EG

12/08/2014 to 17/07/2019

The date 12/08/2014 is generated by a formula

do you mean the days between the 2 dates?
excel store date/time numerically, minus one against the other will get the difference between the dates
