Hi peeps,
I know this is probably a simple sum but, again, I'm tying myself up in knots.
I am trying to calculate the percentage from the result of one number taken from another in the same cell.
For example, 10 - 8 = 2. The percentage of 10 - 2 = 80%.
I know it's not right but am using, where A1 is 10 and B1 is 8:
which is giving me 20%, not 80%.
I can only get the correct percentage by adding in a column (C1) for the first part formula
and then have the second part in a fourth column (D1)
but would like one formula (in C1) so I don't have to have that extra column - can it be done as one formula?
Hope this makes sense!

=(A1-B1)/A1
