I am trying to calculate the date in weeks by putting a number in a column

A1 14/8/9
A2 6
A3 calculation of date in 6 weeks time

The number in A2 could be any number of weeks

Assuming that A1 is a valid date entry, try:

=A1+(A2*7)
If A3 returns an odd looking number, change the format of A3 to a date format (dates are stored in Excel as numbers, specifically the number of days since 1/0/1900).

You are welcome.

The key thing to know is that Excel stores dates as number, and one whole day is represented by "1". So all you need to do is add the number of days to your date to get your new date.
Knowing that there are 7 days in a week, that means just multiplying your weeks by 7 and adding to your original date.
