Hi
I am trying to find the best and easiest way to calculate age. I thought it is something easy but it turn it is a bit complex. The websites below showing how to calculate age. But I only found Excel-Easy.com is better and easier yet it is not that easy because they use a function called datedif() which is not available. Why it is hidden? Lets say I have a set of dates and I want to find the age. How you would it do it yourself please? Thank you very much

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
What version of Excel are you using.....the DATEDIF function goes back a fair way !!
=DATEDIF(oldest date, newest date, "y")

DateDif is a function from the early days of Excel. It does not prompt you for input as most functions within excel do. You need to know the syntax. It is available in all versions of Excel, but needs to be typed out explicitly.

Ok, see Alans comment regarding the use of, it has to be typed in manually, it doesn't appear in the function list !!

Why it is hidden?
I think this goes some way to explaining that.
Warning: Excel provides the DATEDIF function in order to support older workbooks from Lotus 1-2-3. The DATEDIF function may calculate incorrect results under certain scenarios. Please see the known issues section of this article for further details.
