I need to build lookup table (for a trucking distribution model) that contains distances (road miles not as the crow flies) and driving times for approximately 850,000 Zip code pairs. It is a one time effort but could be used in other trucking models that I might be asked to build. Does anyone know now I might go about this?

Excel Facts

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
You may want to look at a product called PC Miler that has the trucking info you need. It's not free, but would probably save you a lot of time.

AhoyNC,

Thank you so much for letting me know about PCMiler. They make a product called BatchPro that reads in a text file of location pairs, calculates mileage, drive time, and cost, then write that information back out to another text file for use in my program. This is perfect for my needs.

In case anyone else is interested, the price is $5,990 USD for US/Mexico locations and $875 for the Canadian Add-In module. There is a user manual and spec sheet that you can download at PCMiler.com

Thanks again.

For anyone else interested in this, I just discovered that PCMiler also sells a spreadsheet program that provides everything I need for $1884 (includes PCMiler + Spreadsheet program)
