We must provide HR at various work sites a tool which will help them determine which schedule they should enter in our the timekeeping/payroll system for their workers who work certain schedules.

In the example attached, the employee works 3 days, off 2 days, works 2 days, is off 3 days, and works 2 days and is off 2 days -- then starts all over again. This is a 14 day schedule.

The "X"s indicate days worked, the blanks indicate non-worked days.

I will be happy to send you my excel document if you'll tell me how to do that. You will see that I have a Master worksheet for an entire year where the pattern repeats itself. I am working on the one for the new year and it's challenging. I need a way for HR to be able to print a template for a particular month in the year. Of one of their employees works this schedule, they will determine what month/day they start work. For instance if they start on January 11th, they would choose the "day 12" option from the payroll system.

What I would like your help with is just maybe a new way of designing this. the pattern goes on for ever and doesn't change. It's just the dates that will change -- sometimes its a their leap year, etc.

Just brain-storming here and looking for some new ideas - maybe excel isn't the best option.

All HR is doing is going to the month they happen to be in - they print the document and they can make their entries in the timekeeping system. It just has to be precise.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
