Books or examples for Absolute Beginner

Hi,

My excel skills are pretty good, but I have no idea about vba or programming. Looking for books or samples, where it shows step by step examples on how to start using vba / programming. I find going through examples and doing it yourself wil be the best way to learn.

Any help on this would be appreciated. p.s. I have tried recording macros. but want to learn the programming way

Check out the MrExcel.com store. MrExcel haws written many good books. John Walkenbeck also has many good books on the subject.

Even us experienced VBA programmers use the Macro Recorder a lot! It is a great tool. If you record some actions, then go back and disect your code to see what it is doing, that is also a great way to learn. Obviously, it won't teach you everything you want to know (i.e. you can't record loops), but it is a vital learning tool.

Also, you can might be able to find some tutorials with a Google Search, take some classes at a local college or learning institution, and simply reading a lot of posts here will help too!
