Book suggestions?

Hey, all.

I was thinking about picking up a book on VBA to help me get started on actually learning some of this.

I've figured out a tiny, tiny bit on my own, but mainly with help from here, Jack via email and a bit of recording macros then seeing how it worked.

This one looked like it might be something like what I'm looking for/needing.

At any rate, I know there was another thread (maybe 2) about book suggestions, but I was wondering if anyone else had some other options?

(And yes, I have checked Bill's book page  )

Excel Facts

Who is Mr Spreadsheet?
Author John Walkenbach was Mr Spreadsheet until his retirement in June 2019.
Ah, who said there's anything wrong with a little self-promotion?

Those looked about like what Bill's got posted--a little more advanced than I'm looking for.

I'll stop by Barnes & Noble or somewhere tonight and skim through some there, see if anything leaps out at me.

Hold up Kristy, did you see the first link:

http://j-walk.com/ss/books/xlbooks.htm

Looks like John has a variety, including Programming for Dummies, that's probably fairly basic.

It's not necessarily self promoting, I just didn't recall anyone else linking to these, it's not like I wrote these or anything....

Have a good one.

I did see that. Guess I should have specifically mentioned it, though

We've got Excel 2002 at home and I've got it at work, so I just really looked at that little section.

I've gone through some of those Dummies books before, on various topics. They didn't seem very helpful for me

Well, the bookstore I went to had a TON of books for VB6, but hardly anything for VBA, which is what I want (I'm just using what comes with Excel).

I skimmed through the ones that were actually for VBA, and found that they were either just reference, which is not what I was looking for, or way above my level.

So, I ended up with a copy of VBA for Dummies. I skimmed through it a little at the store and at least it looked like it was the level I was looking for, and came with a CD. Though that last sentence doesn't sound so good with the whole "dummy" implication...

Thanks for the suggestions, though!

The following cd may be of interest:

It's not out yet (soon), but I have faith , it will demonstrate quite a variety of techniques, from very basic to more advanced.
