When you at a bit of a loose end, or on lunch at work do you find yourself stalking the MrExcel board like me? Just to keep your brain ticking over?

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
Stalking the board is pretty much what I did the entire workday at my last job.

Started a new job in July so I only get a chance to check on the board briefly early in the morning (providing I have time to sit around and check e-mail, etc.) or after I get home.

Sigh.

Generally don't get much chance at work but while I'm waiting for a SAP report to run I'll have a quick browse, like now.

I do check in at weekends but this is generally to avoid doing something else I should be doing like cleaning/decorating/gardening.

Don’t tell the boss, but I spend far too much time browsing the board!

Stalking is such an ugly word. Let's call it "aggressive monitoring" :-)

I like that Matt, let's just hope that Web(non)Sense hasn't been doing the same!

I've convinced my boss that I'm learning new and better techniques, which is true in spirit, but not so much in the Lounge.

I've convinced my boss that I'm learning new and better techniques....

That's my plan if I'm ever questioned. I spend the majority of the day on the board....for entertainment and education. My boss is so in love with the stuff that I've been able to do with excel in the past year that he rarely gives me any engineering/design work.
