Best way to perform stats on Radio Show playlists?

Hello World! I'm new to the board but not Excel and I have a quick question. I have listened to 80s radio shows for a long time and earlier this year I started jotting down the show's playlist in separate excel spreadsheets in a workbook. The other day I thought it would be neat to run some basic stats on the play lists and see how often they play a particular artist or song.

I have about 12 weeks of playlists and they're all formatted the same so Column A is the song number, Column B is the Artist, and Column C is the Title. It's nothing fancy and I am doing this out of pure curiosity. I am familiar with the conditional formatting of duplicates and such but I would like to have the stats on a separate sheet and maybe have it update dynamically as I add more songs to the play lists.

What I was wondering is what you all think might be the best route to take when setting this up. Functions, Formulas, VBA, etc... I'm not a programming Wiz but I am familiar with it.

Thanks!

Steve

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
Thanks for the idea, but no I haven't really thought about using a pivot table. Probably because I didn't like them much when I took an Excel class in college. I'll give them another look though and see if that's a possibility.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Steve
