Hey Dear community,

I use VBA to calculate very big files, with my pc ( 6gb ram ) it takes 35 - 40 minutes for calculation.

I wanna know what if i make same calculation with server? ( 125gbram etc ) will there be very big difference in calculation time? or is there calculation time limit?

What parametres are most important? CPU? RAM? RAID? SSD? is there difference between operation system?

Hello

I assume these are Excel files, and suggest the biggest difference in calculation time will be the way the calculations are done. The set up of the Excel file.

There are old threads here where, IIRC, in one example array formulas took 6 hours and instead a query table approach took a second or two.

So, suggest you initially optimise the way the calculations are done. If further improvements are required look at the computer, and even the software - MS Access for example might be more suitable than Excel.

regards, Fazza
