Best application for saving various passwords safely, & how to obtain it free

hi freinds,
could anybody tell me which is best application for saving my huge password data ie., somekind of password vault.

i tried it in google but it was all demo versions which is temprorary & later hv to be purchased.

i want it free & a secured & trusted one.

please help.

Forget it. If it's free and / or it's an app then it can't be trusted or secure. It's naive to expect a free application to maintain passwords, or any application regardless of what it costs for that matter since anything can be hacked, is more scure than the programs the passwords themselves are being used for. Safer and more secure would be the old-fashioned way of either keeping the passwords in your head, or on a piece of paper locked in a hidden safe or bank safety deposit vault.

Check this out. Joel Spolsky is a credible source, and I have used his solution since a while and have been very happy with it. One aspect I really like about it is that since I started using it, all my passwords are "good" passwords (i.e. meaningless strings), and I change them regularly too...

Take a look at http://keepass.info/
It's open source, free of course, and stands in high regard in the open source community. I don't use it myself, my own memory still serves me fine
